And roll up, roll up, all you thrill seekers meet
Oh you’re in for a test of morale, what a treat!
Pigs in the circus take stand and get ready
With their faces in filth, champagne glasses heavy
But the circus must go on
They must pretend that they care
How this country is run
In the house where they search for self-gain
They cry “Why must apathy reign!?”
I met this funny fellow while standing there
He wore a black coat, top hat upon his head
He told me to flee, keep wit, take care
He leapt down off his high horse and he sold me the devil’s glare
He said don’t take your time, time is no man’s treasure
These men will pick your souls for their own mere pleasure
And I cannot believe my ears
How one cruel creature can prey upon a mass’ fears
Conform, you dirty peasants
We must stand tall, when corruption is present
He told me the circus was a cruel joke
A trick, a game, a jest just to fool us poor folk
I sat up, and I sighed
Stood up, loosened my tie, and replied:
“I don’t believe my eyes
I don’t believe my ears!”
How one cruel creature can prey upon a mass’ fears
We say don’t identify by your class
We care only for the goodness in a man’s heart
Oh, but they might dress smart
But he has no heart
Roll up, roll up, all you thrill seekers meet
You’re in for a test of morale, what a treat!
They might dress smart, they might speak sweet
But these cruel creatures won’t stop until they reach defeat
