And roll up, roll up, all you thrill seekers meet Oh you’re in for a test of morale, what a treat! Pigs in the circus take stand and get ready With their faces in filth, champagne glasses heavy But the circus must go on They must pretend that they care How this country is run In the house where they search for self-gain They cry “Why must apathy reign!?” I met this funny fellow while standing there He wore a black coat, top hat upon his head He told me to flee, keep wit, take care He leapt down off his high horse and he sold me the devil’s glare He said don’t take your time, time is no man’s treasure These men will pick your souls for their own mere pleasure And I cannot believe my ears How one cruel creature can prey upon a mass’ fears Conform, you dirty peasants We must stand tall, when corruption is present He told me the circus was a cruel joke A trick, a game, a jest just to fool us poor folk I sat up, and I sighed Stood up, loosened my tie, and replied: “I don’t believe my eyes I don’t believe my ears!” How one cruel creature can prey upon a mass’ fears We say don’t identify by your class We care only for the goodness in a man’s heart Oh, but they might dress smart But he has no heart Roll up, roll up, all you thrill seekers meet You’re in for a test of morale, what a treat! They might dress smart, they might speak sweet But these cruel creatures won’t stop until they reach defeat The circus is real

It might seem weird, but we’re in this world together It might seem weird, but we’re in this world together Stuck in limbo, here I am Call a limo? no I can’t Got no change in this life Always skint, it’s a matter of time Tick, tock, tick, tock, goes that clock Tick, tock, tick, tock, goes that clock Tick, tock, tick, tock, Stop Hey little boy, why don’t you come talk to Mama? It’s life or death in this world You won’t get another chance Go to bed, don’t you cry (Not a whisper or a sigh) Mama’s in your dreams (Caring for your needs) Go to bed, don’t you cry (Not a whisper or a sigh) Mama’s in your dreams (Caring for your…) Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, ’til you drop Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, ’til you drop Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, Stop L-I-M-B-O Ako nahuli up, sa limbo

I have met a couple of these terrible thieves Most peculiar mighty men But there was no deviance just cheerful chaps No different from you and me You cannot imagine the pain I feel When I see that those crooks were born fighting for a meal The cycle will never end Between the poor and the lost The universal perceptions must be knocked The cruel choose to not look upon them But these people they do not see That when a man is born into trouble Only trouble he will be

Tell me you know how to lose yourself And why do you seem so glum? Looks like you’re only containing your fun Just for the harsh thoughts of some You can’t live just to please the other ones Get up, get out and scream through your unforgiving lungs So you think you can dance? Drop your fears and swing your hips to the beat Old man, what do you look so scared for? (We won’t hurt you) Check your cares and twist all fours with us By the end brother, you won’t feel any more You pretend you don’t care what others think But I’m sure I’m not the only one who knows Transparency is clearer than the shape of your nose Do you really want to life your life for those?

about

Lounge Cat Ideals Bristol, UK

Swingin’ Dance Music!

Lounge Cat Ideals' Uptempo Swing sound pits riotous clarinet lines against delicate vocal harmonies, whilst drawing on the innate energy of Ska and Gypsy Jazz to keep feet moving.

2016's 'The Circus Is Real' sees the band develop a more raucous edge - this is reflected in their stomping live show which has brought them to many festivals and venues across the UK.
